One day, a saint renowned for his deep knowledge and devotion rested after his worship.

In that quiet moment, he saw a strange dream. It felt as though someone far away was calling for his help.

He understood he was meant to guide and preach, though he did not yet know why. Taking Allah’s name, he prepared for the journey ahead.

Saint in the Forest

Meanwhile, after many days of travel, the saint arrived at a remote village beside a dense forest. Finding no one there, he quietly paused and began to pray.

The villagers were proud people who knew nothing about the One God. When they returned and saw the elderly stranger in worship, they became angry.

“What were you doing?” They were astonished.

The saint smiled softly, “I was praying to the One who created us all.”

They mocked the saint and said, “There is no god; everything is the result of our effort and destiny alone.”

“This is not your power,” the old man said. “It is only the blessing of Allah.”

His words filled the tribespeople with anger, and they tied the elderly saint to a tree.

The Condition of Women In Ancient Times

In those days, the customs of the Age of Ignorance shaped people’s thinking. Women and daughters were denied dignity, deprived of basic rights, and often considered less valuable than property.

When a devastating drought struck, the villagers clung to an old superstition, blaming it for the hardship that had fallen upon the community.

As a result, they endured humiliation, relentless labor, and unjust treatment, bearing the burden of false beliefs rather than any real wrongdoing.

The Birth of a Boy and The Lion Ritual

Following the birth of every baby boy, the villagers observed a lion ritual rooted in generations of tradition.

They believed the mighty guardian of the forest had to be honored with offerings and sacred ceremonies.

According to their elders, only then would the child receive protection and the village remain safe from harm.

The Saint and the Oppression: The Lost Children

The pious man had already endured great hardship. This time, the tribespeople left his fate to the lion.

That night, they began their ceremonies. Suddenly, a woman cried out:

“The Lion King, it has taken my child!”

By Allah’s command, the lion spoke:

“This is not from me. It is from Allah because you lived in ignorance, humiliating the weak, showing haughtiness, and falling into self-importance because of wealth and sons.

A Final Lesson of the Lion’s Story: Nothing Has Power Without Allah

“What power remains with you if Allah removes His blessings?”

The lion sighed and said, “Remember, I am only a creation of Allah. He alone is One.”

The Saint’s Message: Allah’s Absolute Sovereignty

The saint said, “The message of the lion has reached you all. I came with the same purpose to remind you that sons, daughters, rizq, and fortune all come only from Allah.”

He then recited:“He gives to whom He wills female children, and He gives to whom He wills male children.”
