What if a lion became the bearer of a divine message?

In a forgotten village, an extraordinary event changed countless lives. By the Creator’s command, a majestic lion delivered a powerful reminder, turning pride into humility and awakening hearts to the truth.
This timeless story reveals how guidance can come through the most unexpected of Allah’s creation.
A Dream That Changes Everything: A Pious Saint
One day, a saint renowned for his deep knowledge and devotion rested after his worship.
In that quiet moment, he saw a strange dream. It felt as though someone far away was calling for his help.
He understood he was meant to guide and preach, though he did not yet know why. Taking Allahโs name, he prepared for the journey ahead.
Saint in the Forest
Meanwhile, after many days of travel, the saint arrived at a remote village beside a dense forest. Finding no one there, he quietly paused and began to pray.
The villagers were proud people who knew nothing about the One God. When they returned and saw the elderly stranger in worship, they became angry.
โWhat were you doing?โ They were astonished.
The saint smiled softly, โI was praying to the One who created us all.โ
They mocked the saint and said, โThere is no god; everything is the result of our effort and destiny alone.โ
โThis is not your power,โ the old man said. โIt is only the blessing of Allah.โ
His words filled the tribespeople with anger, and they tied the elderly saint to a tree.
The Condition of Women In Ancient Times
In those days, the customs of the Age of Ignorance shaped people’s thinking. Women and daughters were denied dignity, deprived of basic rights, and often considered less valuable than property.
When a devastating drought struck, the villagers clung to an old superstition, blaming it for the hardship that had fallen upon the community.
As a result, they endured humiliation, relentless labor, and unjust treatment, bearing the burden of false beliefs rather than any real wrongdoing.
The Birth of a Boy and The Lion Ritual
Following the birth of every baby boy, the villagers observed a lion ritual rooted in generations of tradition.
They believed the mighty guardian of the forest had to be honored with offerings and sacred ceremonies.
According to their elders, only then would the child receive protection and the village remain safe from harm.
The Saint and the Oppression: The Lost Children
The pious man had already endured great hardship. This time, the tribespeople left his fate to the lion.
That night, they began their ceremonies. Suddenly, a woman cried out:
โThe Lion King, it has taken my child!โ
Panic spread everywhere. The men searched desperately, but the lion was nowhere to be found. Soon after, more newborn boys began disappearing one after another.
The Lionโs Spine-Chilling Voice: A Testimony of Allah
The servant of Allah saw the community’s worsening condition and raised his hands in dua. Allah accepted his prayer.
Suddenly, a thundering roar echoed across the hamlet. The lionโs voice shook the entire tribe. Fearful people cried for mercy.
โGive us back our sons! Why has this calamity come upon us?โ
By Allahโs command, the lion spoke:
โThis is not from me. It is from Allah because you lived in ignorance, humiliating the weak, showing haughtiness, and falling into self-importance because of wealth and sons.
A Final Lesson of the Lion’s Story: Nothing Has Power Without Allah
โWhat power remains with you if Allah removes His blessings?โ
The lion sighed and said, โRemember, I am only a creation of Allah. He alone is One.โ
The Saintโs Message: Allahโs Absolute Sovereignty
The saint said, โThe message of the lion has reached you all. I came with the same purpose to remind you that sons, daughters, rizq, and fortune all come only from Allah.โ
He then recited:โHe gives to whom He wills female children, and He gives to whom He wills male children.โ
(Surah Ash-Shura 42:49โ50)
Quranic Reflection: Surah Ash-Shura (42:49โ50)
This blessed passage reminds us that the Creator alone has absolute authority over all creation.
By His command, He grants daughters, sons, both sons and daughters, or leaves whom He wills without children. Every blessing unfolds according to His perfect wisdom and mercy.
Then, to the amazement of everyone present, the newborn child began to glorify his Lord. His miraculous words filled the gathering with awe, leaving every heart humbled before the One who gives life and guidance.
In that unforgettable moment, the majestic lion, one of the Creator’s most powerful creatures, became a witness to divine truth.
This remarkable event reminds us that the lion in Islam symbolizes courage, strength, and complete submission to its Lord.
By divine decree, hardened hearts were softened, faith was renewed, and hope blossomed once again.
